Tips For A More Comfortable Long Ride On A Charter Bus

Posted on: 16 October 2020

Charter buses are made to be as comfortable as possible for long drives. However, staying on any sort of transportation for hours on end can be challenging. If you have a long charter bus drive coming up, here are some ways to keep yourself more comfortable for the duration.

1. Wear sweats or athletic apparel

Nobody is going to judge how you are dressed on the bus. Don't wear business casual attire or even jeans. Instead, don some sweatpants or other athletic apparel. You'll be more comfortable without seams rubbing or elastic tugging at your waist.

2. Bring a blanket

To keep the air fresh in a charter bus, there will always be some air flowing in. Even if the heat or air conditioning is not on, this airflow can make you feel a little chilly, especially when you've been sitting around and not moving. Pack a blanket so you can snuggle under it and stay nice and warm.

3. Don't sit near the bathroom

It is nice to have a bathroom on the charter bus, but you really don't want to be the person who sits next to it, especially on a long trip when things can get smelly. If you choose your seat when booking your ticket, look at the seating plan and make sure you select a seat that's a good distance from the bathroom. If you don't get to choose your seat upon booking, make sure you arrive early so you can board the bus and select a seat further from the bathroom before they are all claimed.

4. Pack earplugs

At some point on your voyage, you will probably want to take a nap. Chances are, some of the other passengers will be more awake and lively. If you bring some earplugs, you can pop them in and drown out the noise, enabling you to rest more effectively.

5. Bring slippers

You probably don't want to wander around the bus barefoot or in your socks, but you also don't want to wear your shoes constantly through such a long drive. Here's the solution: bring some slippers. Your feet can relax, and they'll still be protected when you walk down the aisle.

Riding on a charter bus can be one of the most comfortable ways to take a long voyage, but it's still your responsibility to take steps to enhance your own comfort. Start by following the tips above.
